YOUR INFORMATION
Privacy statement
This statement explains data handling for the current Omotenashi by BentoDAO demonstration, including its iPhone and Android app views and app.bentodao.com.
Updated
The restaurant and rewards experience is a simulation. It does not perform real restaurant payments, on-chain OMT/URA minting, or donation collection. Optional account sign-in, where enabled, lets you recover the account’s simulated points on another device. Displayed restaurant addresses and OMT/URA balances are fictional examples with no monetary value. An optional native wallet, when included in your app version, is a separate feature described below.
Information used by the app
- Session identifier: an essential cookie contains a randomly generated identifier so the server can recognize this device's demo session. Production guest and account cookies use Secure, HttpOnly, and SameSite=Strict. A temporary Google browser-binding cookie uses SameSite=Lax for the authentication return.
- Demo activity: the server stores simulated payment amounts and selected assets, restaurants selected for actions, OMT/URA rewards and balances, votes, restaurant distributions, receipt and retry identifiers, and activity times. These records are associated with your guest session or, after optional sign-in, your separate points account.
- Optional points account: we store your email address, authentication provider and provider subject identifier, session creation and last-use times, and a general browser/device label. Email codes are short-lived and one use. Google sign-in requests only
openid email; we do not request Gmail messages, contacts, or Drive files. Provider access and refresh tokens are discarded. - Device storage: your English/Japanese language preference is saved locally. The app's web view may keep ordinary website data and cache. Restaurant searches and filters are handled on your device by the current app.
- Technical information: web requests expose your IP address, browser/app details, requested paths, and request times to the hosting infrastructure. Unexpected service errors may be logged.
- Support correspondence: if you email us, we receive your email address and any message or attachments you choose to send.
The guest demo does not require your name, email, phone number, real wallet address, card details, or wallet recovery phrase. Optional sign-in asks for an email address or uses Google authentication where configured. The current app contains no advertising or analytics SDK and does not request your location, camera, or microphone.
Optional native wallet
This section applies only to app versions that include a native wallet screen. TestFlight version 0.1.0 (3) does not include that feature. Using the restaurant demo does not require creating or importing a wallet.
Wallet creation and recovery take place on your device. Recovery phrases and private keys are handled in native screens and protected with the platform's local secure-storage facilities. The app does not send these secrets to Xserver, the restaurant website, or a blockchain RPC provider. Support cannot recover a lost phrase or private key. Do not enter them into the website or send them by email.
After you opt into network access, balance and fee requests send your public wallet address and relevant transaction details to the selected RPC service. That service also receives connection information such as your IP address. Default networks use PublicNode for Ethereum, a BNB Chain public endpoint for BNB Smart Chain, and the operator's published Zweichain endpoint. Availability and data practices vary by provider. A custom RPC, where supported, receives the same categories of information.
If you approve a blockchain transaction in a version that enables sending, its signed transaction is transmitted to the selected network. Addresses, amounts, contract interactions, and transaction history can become publicly accessible and remain on the blockchain. Removing a local wallet or contacting support cannot erase those public records or reverse a transaction. Local wallet balances and demo OMT/URA points are separate; no conversion is performed merely by opening or switching networks.
Why this information is used
Session information and demo activity maintain your sample balance and history, show the guide, prevent duplicate actions on retry, and apply demo usage limits. Account information authenticates sign-in, recovers the account’s simulated points across devices, and lets you manage signed-in devices. It is not used for marketing or advertising analytics. Technical information supports operation, troubleshooting, and security. Support correspondence is used to respond to your inquiry.
Hosting, access, and external services
The app service is hosted on Xserver. Project personnel and service providers involved in hosting or handling support may process relevant information for those functions. The current app does not include advertising or analytics integrations that receive your demo activity.
BentoDAO archive, artwork, and gallery links open other websites. Those sites, and the email service you choose when contacting us, operate under their own privacy practices. Selecting an email link does not send a message automatically.
Session lifetime and retention
Guest demo sessions have a seven-day inactivity limit. Guest activity renews that cookie lifetime and server activity time. Once a guest session expires, the app starts a new guest demo. Guest balances do not synchronize across devices and are never automatically merged into an account.
When enabled, account sessions last up to 30 days from sign-in. Revoking another device or deleting an account requires authentication within the previous 10 minutes. Account points and history are kept separately from guest cleanup so they can be recovered by signing in again with the same provider and identity. Email and Google identities are not automatically combined even when their email addresses match.
Deleting an account removes its identity/profile, active account sessions, and simulated points ledger/history. It does not automatically delete hosting logs, backup copies, or support correspondence. Native wallet keys and public blockchain records are separate and are not deleted by account deletion. Account sign-in does not recover wallet keys.
Expiry is separate from deletion. Expired demo database and session files are removed when the service's cleanup process runs. Clearing a cookie, clearing app data, or uninstalling does not immediately delete records on the server.
Hosting logs, backups, and support correspondence are separate from the demo session and are not deleted by its seven-day expiry. This statement does not promise a fixed automatic deletion deadline for those records. Contact us for information about their retention or to request removal.
Your choices and requests
While signed out, open the Account screen and choose Delete guest demo data, then type DELETE to confirm. This removes this guest session’s points ledger, votes, receipts and pending sign-in flows, and starts a new sample demo. Other guest sessions, signed-in accounts and native wallet keys remain separate. A minimal retired-session marker may remain until expiry or cleanup to block queued requests; it contains no points, receipts or email. Hosting logs, backups, security rate-limit records and support correspondence follow their separate retention described above.
You can stop using the demo, clear locally stored app or website data, and choose whether to send a support email. To ask about access, correction, or deletion, email the contact below. A visible receipt ID and approximate activity time may help us find a demo record. Guest sessions are not linked to email, so we may need information to identify the session. Signed-in users can review and revoke device sessions or delete their points account from the Account screen after recent verification.
Do not email a session cookie, password, recovery phrase, private key, or payment-card information. Removing local data before making a request may make the old session harder to identify.
